OS Dogs

  • Adélie: Like a golden retriever, Adélie gets along with everybody. Still a young dog, so her capabilities haven’t been fully mapped, but it’s suspected that she’ll pick up tricks like a border collie but without the tendency to teach herself undesired tricks.
  • Windows series: A whole family of dogs that play best with one another, but not other dogs. The newest puppy has an unfortunate tendency to bite the owner, and constantly needs a bit of refresher training.
  • Gentoo: The designer dog. You can select desired traits from a large palette, but your Gentoo dog will occasionally pee on the floor while grinning at you like an idiot.
  • Alpine: Very low-maintenance and hypoallergenic, but kind of ugly. He’s most at home roaming the outdoors.
  • Arch: Not as customizeable as the Gentoo dog, but has many of the same traits. If you leave him alone for too long, he’ll age 10 years and pee everywhere while barking incessantly.
  • Debian: A venerable labrador, the Debian dog is very dependable, but she only responds well to one training regime. Any attempts to mix in another may result in a very confused dog with decision paralysis.
  • Ubuntu: Debian’s son has many of the same issues, but he’s friendlier to new owners than Debian is.
  • RHEL: A rottweiler seemingly older than time, RHEL takes a lot of patience to work with and has a limited repertoire of tricks that he knows really, really well.
  • Fedora: RHEL’s granddaughter is easier to work with than her grandsire, but their relationship is obvious based on description alone.
  • FreeBSD: …
  • NetBSD: An ageing golden retriever; still gets along with everybody, but she seems a bit neglected of late.
  • OpenBSD: Smart as a border collie, and always on point whenever he’s given commands. He’s very particular about his execution, however.
