- Jack Thompson is still making waves in Florida, though unfortunately not of the waterborne variety (they could be used for hydroelectricity).
- Ubisoft seems to think that they can redefine the console RTS game. Personally, I'm not sure how they'll be able to do that given their lack of innovation in the strategic first-person shooter genre as of late.
- Frogger has a new 'treat' in store for you, in the form of a Dance Dance Revolution-style mat for its latest arcade entry. I am Jack's total lack of caring, however.
- Google Earth can now be used in your browser as of today, though it is currently Windows-only and not without a few quirks. Still, it's faster than Microsoft's Virtual Earth.
- A first preview of the next Prince of Persia title has been released.
- Apple has patented a new way to help find your keys, as well as to tell when you're about to drop your call due to range-to-tower issues.
- The Splashtop is coming to more ASUS laptops and rigs, it seems.
- McDonald's will be discontinuing its free wifi service for wifi users.

- What's that in the air, you say? No, it's not Bruce Willis, but it is a flying taxi, courtest of Avcen Limited.
- VIA is trying again for the subnotebook market, this time with a sleek design and an open-source design. Yes, you heard me right: open-source design. They've released the CAD files so that anyone with manufacturing equipment can fabricate their own.
- Details have emerged from multiple sources about Windows 7's features and functionality. Windows development team chief Sinofsky did an exclusive with CNET, and Gates and Ballmer showed off Windows 7's multitouch functionality.
- Nintendo has released an updated schedule for Japan, including a Wii Wario game.
- There is now a VMWare & VirtualBox compatible KDE4Daily disk image. It should work in the latest releases of both hypervisors, though I've only tested it in VirtualBox 1.5.6. Enjoy!
- Capcom has finally gotten around to developing Street Fighter IV, after countless remakes of its prequels, Street Fighter II and III.
- Activision has released a demo of Guitar Hero DS, and frankly, they're focusing on the wrong part of the game. It's how you feel when you play it, not how you play it, that's important for DS and Wii titles. Whoops.
- Brace yourselves, because Bioshock is coming to the PS3 in October, apparently with new content.

- The KDE4Daily project has restarted. Interested users can download a qemu disk image (HTTP download), or if they prefer, they can download a torrent and seed.

- A Wii Homebrew Channel has been created. This is, of course, unofficial. I hope someone finally realises that there are legitimate uses for allowing the ordinary citizen to run their own code on consoles, however.
- The Phoenix has landed on Mars and has already sent back lots of pictures.
- President Bush has signed into law one of the only good things he's signed. Specifically, he's signed the GINA, which makes it illegal to discriminate against people based on their genetic predispositions towards particular disorders.
